I've been using the dryer for over a month now and it works great. It seems to dry things better than my old dryer and the automatic setting actually works on this unit. We have dogs and are constantly washing dog bedding and we use water proof blankets on our furniture to protect them from the dogs. My older dryer, I would have to run the water proof blanker through in two cycles, but on this unit, it dry's them perfectly in one cycle on delicate setting. While this is an expensive dryer, the way its built is for reparability. I read many of the negative reviews on this dryer and I haven't had any of the problems mentioned in them. My unit did come with the guard to stop clothes falling into the lint trap. If you do a lot of laundry, this thing is a workhorse that dryer large loads in a cycle. I love that it comes with a mechanical knob instead of an electric board as well. .

Basic looking dryer. Smaller than normal load capacity, and most importantly, has already had service on it since owning it for 3 months. Even worse, the service didn't fix the loud squeak when the dryer is running. You can push on the top of the machine from the top and hear an audible squeak with or without clothes in it. Highly disappointed after paying $1400 for a dryer.

I have only had the machine for a short time btu it does not outpace my previous dryer which was a Maytag (35-years old). The one feature which is difficult for me is the opening of the dryer door. Obviously designed for safety purposes but for an older person it is hard to open.

We have owned a Speedqueen washer for years and have never had a service call on it. When our dryer recently died we replaced it with a Speedqueen. I am sure it will be as sturdy as the washer is. Speedqueen does not put lots of bells and whistles on their products…who needs them!!!! I recommend to everyone I know. Our appliance repair person initially recommended Speedqueen to us for its durability.

This dryer is like the dryers 30 or more years ago, heavy and simple to use. Love the lint filter. All of the lint comes out with one swipe and doesn't get everywhere. It takes about an hour to dry most loads and I dry full loads. I really like the big simple to use control knobs. I like that it has minimal electronics. I feel like this dryer will last at least 20 years like Speed Queen advertises. Price is higher than competitors but it is MADE in the USA. Don't hesitate to buy one, you'll feel better about yourself knowing you purchased a major item that was made here in the USA!

Fantastic, well built dryer. You can tell this will last a lifetime. Dryers clothes extremely well, but I would recommend using the extended tumble. Only thing that could be improved is the area around the lint trap, it is rather hard to clean.

Overall a great machine. Large capacity and dries quickly. My biggest complaint with this device is that the door is very difficult to open. A lot of force is needed to pull it open. I wish door was designed to open downward instead of to the left or right. Laundry often falls to floor when opening door.

Everyone I know that has a Speed Queen absolutely loves it. We bought ours on 12/26/22 and have already needed a service call and honestly need another one. We can only use the timed dry setting bc otherwise it runs continuously. And we can only dry items on delicate bc the dryer gets so hot even on that setting. We dry most items on delicate anyway but this dryers delicate is like fire! The buttons on my jeans literally burned my skin when I touched them. That doesn't seem like a delicate cycle. We've had it looked out and the fuse replaced as they thought that was the issue but nope still running fire hot. I was so excited to get a Speed Queen bc of everyone's excellent reviews but ours is not living up to the hype.

Owned a Maytag Commercial Duty set for 30 years. I thought they were really good but the Speed Queen is even better. Quiet, powerful and efficient. If they last as long as my old Maytags they very cost effective.

This is the first time I purchased a speed queen, works ok, doesn't dry as quickly as my old HE dryer. The only things I don't like about it are the knob to turn to the cycle type I line it up and push start and it won't start. I have to move it a little past the cycle line. The other thing is that the end of cycle signal won't sound on all the cycles it has ( perm press, efficiency, and delicate…)

While this machine is used in our home, we have an SQ washer also, we also use them inn our rental cabins and to date they hold up the best. They are, however, very pricey for a washer or dryer.

Perfect compliment to the washer. Mainly we wanted the washer but decided to get both to make sure the capacity would match. We have not been disappointed. We bought because of previous experience with Speed Queen at our previous residence. We noticed that the end of cycle alarm sounds repeatedly in the Extended Tumble range even when the Extended Tumble switch was in the OFF position. We have set the alarm sound to OFF as a result.
